LeRoy Anthony Hughes is a compassionate and dedicated Resident in Counseling with a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Virginia State University. With a rich background in education and a passion for mental health, LeRoy spent 23 years as an educator, inspiring a love for music in elementary, middle, and high school students. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education/Vocal Choral K-12 from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 1997, reflecting his commitment to both education and the arts.
LeRoy has extensive experience working with intensive in-home clients and individuals in Mental Health Skill Building services. He has supported diverse populations, including adults, children, adolescents, and the LGBTQIA+ community. His expertise includes working with individuals facing PTSD, intellectual disabilities, and mental health conditions such as Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder.
As a counselor, LeRoy's primary objective is to provide his clients with a safe and non-judgmental space for absolute healing. He guides his clients on a transformative journey towards holistic healing, helping them recognize that the answers to life's challenges lie within themselves.
