Jamie Staples is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor with nearly two decades of experience in the counseling field. Since beginning her career in 2005, she has worked in various settings, including residential psychiatric facilities, inpatient and outpatient substance use programs, specialized foster care as a social worker, school-based therapy, and private practice. Her diverse background has given her a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and addiction treatment.
Her passion for innovative therapeutic approaches led her to pursue certification in animal-assisted interventions. She now integrates this unique modality into her practice, working alongside her trusted therapy partners—including horses, dogs, cats, fainting goats, a miniature cow, and a tortoise. By incorporating animals into the therapeutic process, she creates a supportive and engaging environment that fosters healing and personal growth.
Jamie’s training includes play therapy, animal-assisted interventions, animal-assisted play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed approaches.
